Enriched Air Diver
The most popular PADI specialty. Enriched air carries less nitrogen than regular air, which buys you longer dives and shorter surface intervals.
PADI specialty

The difference
Same cylinder. Less nitrogen.
No wonder Enriched Air Diver is the most popular PADI specialty.
The air in a standard cylinder. Perfectly good for most of the diving most divers do.
Breathing less nitrogen is what changes the dive:
- Longer dives
- Shorter surface intervals
How the course works
Two parts, and neither takes long

Hit the books
Knowledge development, done online. Work at your own pace, online or off, on a computer or a phone — whenever it suits you.
- eLearning takes about two to four hours
- Contact the shop for your eLearning code
Practical experience
You sit down with an instructor and learn how to use enriched air cylinders, and how to test what is actually in them before you dive.
- In-water training is optional
- It is not included, and costs extra

Two ways to take it
Already certified and just want the gas? Enriched air fills are a separate question — call the shop on (603) 601-6708 and ask, or see what we currently fill on the breathing gas page.
