How the course is built
Three phases, in order
Knowledge development
The theory, done as PADI eLearning. You can start it any time once you have your code, and it has to be finished before the confined water dives. There is a course book if you would rather read on paper.
Confined water dives
Your first breaths underwater, in a pool or similar confined water. You practice setting up your gear, clearing water from your mask, removing and replacing your regulator, ascending and descending, and controlling your buoyancy — until each one is routine.
Open water dives
The certification dives, with your instructor beside you. You repeat the skills you learned in confined water and then get on with exploring. These are the dives the shop calls Outdives.

Start with Discover Scuba Diving — a short supervised session in confined water with no certification attached. Everything you practice there carries straight into this course.
