Service & repair
When to service
Bring it in before the trip, not during it
A gear failure away from home usually means renting for the rest of the trip, because you will not get it serviced there. It is the one repair that always costs more than it should.
When to service is a common question and the honest answer varies. Your manufacturer publishes a suggested maintenance schedule — if you cannot find it, we will help you track down the one for your setup. As a floor, most gear should be serviced at least once a year.

BCD
The bladder and the power inflator hose. Bring the whole unit — if your BCD has an integrated regulator, see below instead.

Computer battery change
Batteries vary between models, and some need replacing far more often than others. It matters that the change is done correctly, with the authorized kit where one is required.

BCD with integrated regulator
If your spare regulator and power inflator are combined into one device, it should be serviced on the same interval as a regulator kit. Please bring the first stage with it — the two are balanced together.
- BCD / Air 2
- $75+ parts
- Air 2 alone
- $50+ parts
- Example prices
- These are base-level prices for ScubaPro, Sherwood and Genesis gear. Service costs vary with condition and parts.
- You get an estimate
- You are given an estimated cost when you check the gear in.
- No surprises
- If the work is going to exceed that estimate, we contact you before going any further.
Bring every component. First and second stages are tuned to work together, so please hand in the whole set — including the first stage for any BCD-integrated regulator.
