Open Water Dive Information
The four open water dives that complete your PADI Open Water Diver certification. Divers Den calls them Outdives, and they are the last step to your card.
Certification dives

The certification dives
You learn to dive by diving
With your instructor beside you, you repeat the skills you practiced in confined water — mask clearing, regulator recovery, controlled ascents and descents, buoyancy — and then get on with exploring. Once the four are complete and signed off, you are a certified PADI Open Water Diver.

Before you book
Three things have to be done first

- 01Your PADI eLearning, or knowledge development, is complete
- 02All of your confined water dives are finished and signed off
- 03You hold a package that includes open water dives, or you book them separately
The confined water dives really do come first. You must have completed all of them before signing up for Outdives — see confined water dives if you still need those.
