If you need to rent any equipment or need tanks fills, please stop in the shop prior to the dive date, we rent everything you will need, better yet you can pick up some new high-quality gear for yourself. If you are signing up for night dive and don't have a light for a night dive, we have them in stock ready for your dive.

About Ron

My father was a Padi OWSI in the late 60's early 70's for New England Divers on Tozer Rd in Beverly. I first put on scuba gear in their pool at age 5 or 6 and made my first open water dive at age 8 with my Dad at Pebble Cove. We both moved to Newburyport in 1978 and I continued to dive with an aluminum 50 and a custom wetsuit ordered through skin diver magazine. I used to put my gear in a little red wagon and tow it behind my bike to plum island where I lobstered and spear fished for our dinner during the summer for 4 years. My father gave up diving altogether so I fended for myself until forced to get a legit C-card in 1983. I continued to dive pretty conservative for 13 years mostly 80 feet or shallower, mostly lobstering until deciding to teach so I progressed up the chain getting official certs and became an SSI instructor for United Divers in Somerville also repairing compressors. On being hired as a firefighter I moved to NH in 1998 and switched to PADI in 2001 working for another NH shop. In 2011 I was teaching for a NH Boy Scout scuba program when divers den decided to sponsor it for a couple years and I have been with DD since. Over the years I have about 5500 dives, 99% in cold New England waters, very few warm water dives. I've dived CCR and done some tech stuff but prefer simple open circuit dives. My favorite local dives are the Chester Poling and Halfaway rock. I have been a career paramedic for over 30 years
