- The four open water dives. Add them once your pool sessions are done, or take the All-In Combo instead.
What you get
Two phases, then you are ready for the open water dives
Hit the books
Scuba fundamentals, done as PADI eLearning. You can start it the moment your code arrives and work through it at your own pace — typically about five hours. There is a course book if you would rather read on paper.
It has to be finished before your confined water dives.
Confined water dives
Your first breaths underwater, in a pool or similar confined water, with an instructor beside you. You practice each skill until it is routine:
- Setting up your gear
- Clearing water from your mask
- Removing and replacing your regulator
- Ascending and descending
- Controlling your buoyancy
After you sign up you will receive the code to complete your PADI Open Water eLearning, and the details for your pool session. Once your confined water dives are finished you can sign up for the open water dives — see open water dive information.
Equipment
What you bring, what we provide
Mask, fins and snorkel
Bring your own, or stop in at the shop before your class — we have a good selection and can fit you properly, then help you with it during the session.
BCD, regulator, tank and weights
All the scuba equipment for the confined water sessions is included in the package. There is nothing else to buy or rent to complete this part of the course.
